Blog EntryPhil. Politics .... Religious Group EndorsementApr 24, '07 3:04 PM
for everyone
First and foremost , nothing against the El Shadai and Jesus is Lord Movement in the Philippines , thats clear and out of the way , OK  The part I will disagree with them is endorsing their pick of candidates specially in the senate seats , let me correct that , in any political seat . I know there is the much establish separation of Church and State , I wont even go there . With Mr. Villanueva heading JIL movement with about 3 million members , he has denied that he would call for block voting for his group . Then he goes further and says that his picks are usually the choices of his congregation anyway ! I cant get into the mind set , but is this a case of en masse group thinking or somebody doing the thinking for the whole group. Mr. Villanueva named 4 choices for the Senate , Ping Lacson , Manny Villar , Escudero and Cayetano. He further said the main criterion's for the choices were being God Fearing , integrity, competence and living on a principled existence . This for me , personally , is quite vague , he might as well have thrown in " one who wants world peace ".  There is not one single senatorial candidate who does not meet this so-called criterion's . Keep the election process clean , leave the thinking and choice making to the people . As far as Endorsements are concerned , it seems like labor unions or other organization has an option to do that and may not ruffle as many feathers , but in my perspective ! religious groups should refrain from it .

....Ay naku patawarin ka nawa ng mga kulafu at baklang demonyo! You Mr. Tacio will have a special room in hell and will eternally sleep standing up! How dare you question the intelligent decisions of these highly regarded and charismatic leaders? Ah! but maybe I can help. Let me tell you how you can get into their mind set; a) Buy a bag of Talampunay, a local pinoy remedy for severe menstrual cramps sold at the sidewalks of Quiapo. b) Boil the whole bag contents in 2 cups of water for 5 minutes. c) Let it simmer until lukewarm, add two tbs. of brown sugar, stir, pour over coffe filter to rid the concoction of solid residues, drink one cup, wait for 15 minutes and you will then consume the remaining cup of talampunay, sipping it slowly like tea. The effect will take you exactly where these beloved charismatic leaders dwell and get their psychedelic mind set from, and that may help you figure out their frame of mind with regards to decision making for their flock...it's a trip, one you might enjoy being in one more time:)?
