A real pandemic looms in the horizon for most countries in Europe , the America's and the rest of the world. But that is what I am not going to discuss here , I will call it some collateral swine and food practices in the philippines , which to my mind carries a certain disdain to my personal opinion not to mention overtones of disgustness , shaking my head kinda reaction, and " dont want to talk about it reaction with my wife " ... so you get the picture

First on the Agenda : The Double Kill Pig being sold in the open market , usually a pig who dies before time is up at the slaughterhouse for any reason.... usually swine health issues... dont know ... dont care.... but butcher it up and still sell it in the market. That in a nutshell is a carrier of god knows what kind of pathogens.... and yet this seems not to catch the attention of whoever is in charge there !!!!

Second " bothers me " Kinda ....The so called Pag pag food sold in small stall , Corner eatery...

There were certain house favorites, the one which gave diyes or bentesinko centemos to us. It was a not so uncommon practice to find us singing on the same place twice or thrice per night , switching out t- shirts or our singing positions. Anythging to get that extra bentesinko centemos. By the same token , there were some houses notorious for either not even answering their door or gate to carollers, or simply just giving sinko centimos. This deserves special music at the end of a caroling repertoire by singing " ang babarat ninyo " and either slowly walking away from their gate or hurriedly, which ever is most conveninent to a...

Opps wrong country ! That was how I remembered election day in the Philippines . He who yieleded the most power thru guns , goons and money .... won. No if 's but or whatever.. that was how the system was wired. Not obviously here in the good old U.S. of A. Now can I qualify that I since I have spent and exercise my vote here more than I did in the Philippines , can I consider myself as being part of the voting fabric here. Absolutely , man !

Which brings me to the point of ... I wonder how it is in my ancestral country, is it still power through all of the above in the title, or has it change into a more complicated means... like massive and systematic cheating of the election result. HHmmm ... i dont know which is prevailing , but I do know they have an upcoming presidential election this coming 2010. I remember such phrases like vote buying, flying voters, ghost voters, snatching of ballot boxes .... among the many coined terms used in regular use to describe local and ...

Trillanes and Company

The recent events in Manila , in particular the siege of Manila Peninsula Hotel under the not so bright leadership of Trillanes and Gen. Lim., simply reinforces the well known trait of Philippine politics.... grab power or simply known as crab mentality. Is this a direct effect of filipino society having tolerated the previous People power political- dramas which manage to unseat of course the Marcos regime, then the Estrada administration. In the words of a political observer from the west, all this is simply a form of street vigilantism, by western standards of course is not an accepted practice. But in the philippines when you have gone as far as coining a word known as Peoples Power, then its pretty much done deal, its a way of bringing about political change , no matter how un-orthidox the process is. So what comes to mind is why at this point this knuckle heads, like Trillanes and company use this venue of so-called calling in the people to rally behind them, when in fact w...

Yes, the R word , retirement , not to worry if its here in the U.S. We have a very well entrench system in our health care . I'm talking about the massive thrust of condo's and high rise properties being advertised to the Fil/American community in print and T.V. commercials in TFC. They have such high fallotin words like " hyper-amenitized " to describe the furnishings in the condo. units , or try this one saying something like it an organic based development. Located in what they call " Moma" or the modern Makati.Give me a break, hyper-amenitized, what does that really mean , a lot of furnishings , period. Organic based development , well they better have thick timbers as their building foundation , for me tha tis what comes to mind !Check out the area where their building is and its an area of about 28 hectares which is about 50 acres. that's about the size 15 to 16 electric poles in lenght by 8 to 10 poles in width.
This was in the show Boy and Kris from yesterdays episode. Here they feature Vandolph and ,I guess girlfriend Jenny something.... in a Q/A format about their love life , but the gist is...Vandolph is strap to a lie detector system , with a "reader" right behind the table where the actual reading of graphs comes out.First he was seated with his legs crossing " the so-called naka de quatro " which is a no no with this procedure as anatomical /or physical stance of the person may affect the response and graph coming out.I'm no expert but questioning here is limited to brief responses , usually with a yes or a no , But in this particular case it was Vandolph answering elaborately , even with some hand gestures as he talk. Now heres the dumbest part , the person behind randomly doing a reading and giving a thumbs up in the background suggesting.... whatever Whats wrong is not the credibility part of this so-called testing for the truth , but for the creative producers of this sh...

Perception is the key word here , try not to see him in your prying eyes and a skeptical mind , Next time you see this person , look at him through the gentleness of your heart.Reach out , extend your hand for a firm hand shake , and when he gets close enough , slap him hard in the face ant tell him how terrible of a human being he is, preferably shouting to the top of your voice!Walk away calmly and lastly turn around and give him the finger! Erap Guilty of Plunder, life imprisonment, is the penalty. Prominent Filipino Lawyer Rene Saguisag , has describe this Sandigan Court which tried this case as a typical law book case of a victors court , meaning to say, that powers that yields its arm now in the Philippines , has this court designed to convict. So prominently seen during the war tribunals during World War II.
On one lazy and boring day... flipping through the channels , I stop and saw this feature story in TFC about " Pole Dancing " ( by women ! of course ). They had 4 women , each with their own pole , dancing ... seductively ... I might add , while a commentator randomly describe this so-called dance craze here in the U.S. Talk about sugar coating and using high fallootin words to describe this pole dancing , I could have sworn , that if I was not living here in the U.S. , I would think that every home out here in the U.S. has a pole , just for this purpose. They went on to describe that this is such a big craze here , that home kitchen are being out fitted with dancing poles ! I haven't seen one in any household I have been to..... haven't heard of anyone who has it..... am I missing something here.... damn ... where's those dam homes which the TFC commentator so convincingly describe is all over here in the U.S. Needless to say , the commentator describe this dance craze as a way ...

Only in the Philippines that you would have something like this , technically does it really happen ? I mean you have people going out and voting , the canvassers counting the votes , and an election result tabulated in the form of election result , nice and simple ... right ? Noooooo..... the people in between all this , screws up the actual return , in favor of whoever is paying them...and bwalah , you have the winner ! If there is national karma in terms of what goes on with Philippine election , there is no one to blame except that very population which makes fraudulent election activties .

If your one of the many , which did not go for a road trip this memorial day week-end , despair not.... look around there's plenty to do and a chance to play catch up with family or household repairs .Just like planning on a road trip , I planned for this 3 day holiday , as early as friday i got a hold of my lawn repair parts at Lowe's , painters tape and a good kind of paint brush ! there that's plenty of project , number one is painting ! Its a chain reaction always .... at least for me that I wind up painting a wider area more than what I had planned on , normally an extra trip to Home Depot or Lowe's is always the case rather than the exception! I will try to observed Murphy's law , with my sprinklers , if it ain't broke , don't fix it ! So as a safeguard I bought only one gate valve for replacement , no more no less , its mighty tempting to add on another sprinkler head on my backyard , but nah.... I'll do it the old fashion way , I'll procrastinate on this one.

Cleaned my pool r...

Binay's Political dynasty in Makati City !

Incumbent Mayor Binay won handily over Lito Lapid , his daughter won a congressional seat representing the first district , and his son won a seat in the local government as council man . As a backgrounder Mayor Binay has ruled Makati City since 1986/87 when he was placed there by appointment as O.I.C at the advent of the Cory Aquino administration. The rest is history , turning over the helms once to his wife , that was when he reach his third term as Mayor , a so-called political move to retain control of the city with-in his political spectrum. How ironic that the very thing he was protesting about during the Marcos Rule/ or Dynasty , however you want to call it , is exactly how he have lived and evolve into this major political figure ruling the countries richest city , Makati , the Philippines Financial Center. The analogy not in terms of brutality or injustice but strictly in terms of tenure of stay in the same political position. Is this...

( not so ) Funny facts about Philippine Elections !

Comelec recently ruled that voters can only stay for a maximum of 5 minutes in the actual polling booth. Reason being is that this is one of the many schemes employed by politicians to discourage other citizens from voting , by prolonging the wait time to vote. Now for poll watchers and staff , this must be a good thing by being pro-active and actually making the voting line move. Here's what I found (not so) funny , camera phones are not allowed while voting , because this gives a chance for the voter to take a camera shot of their actual vote as proof of who they actually voted for.! ! ! ! now , lets rewind this , first and foremost why is vote selling a practice ?or is it vote buying ? Whichever way who started it first ? the vote buying politician ? or the vote selling citizen ? ! ! ! As the old saying goes it takes two to Tango ! , even better , If your buying , but , I'm not selling , seems to be a better guide for your everyday Juan who simply wants to cas...

On the lighter side ...... Kissing in India

Yap , you can get jailed in India for Kissing in public , as in the case of Richard Gere and an Indian actress who displayed P.D.A. on stage in a fund raising event . Both Richard and the actress is now officially charge with the crime ( ? ). With all due respect to India's law and culture , but isn't this ironic that this is the same country eons ago who gave the world ' Kamasutra " or a graphic representation of the art of love making ! Ok , I'm being kind in my words , art of sex , at least thats what I think Kamasutra is , not unless I'm visually impaired Let's see now what had transpired over the last say 20 years , Berlin Wall has come down , U.S.S.R is no more , China is flooding the world with their products , you can communicate in any part of the world using a hand held device the size of your palm ( smaller actually ) Just my 2 cents for changes .

there , I feel so much better now ! Just another day in paradise ( or Limbo ) , as the case maybe , but no worries ,...

Daves BBQ

Get ready to get messy with their finger licking food , casual dining and good vibes atmosphere , american country music playing loud enough to lift your spirits up but low enough to carry on with a table conversation. Now comes the best part , the selection of B.B.Q. from St.Louis Ribs , Hot Links Sausage and my favorite Rib Tips . For the price of under $10.00 you get a full pound of Rib Tips plus choice of two sides , corn bread comes with the platter. Meat are cook right , tender and juicy , at the amount of food they give you , hard to figure out how they make a profit , but thats their bag not mine! Just like in most good restaurants the waiting to get your table is another story , on your lucky night it could be as short as 10 minutes , on a typical night when half the town is dining out , waiting time could be as long as an hour. Here's a tip ! check out the bar section where they have 7 to 8 tables ready to be pounce on by anybody , first come first serve basis , for a coup...

45 caliber comparison 1911 model / Springfield vs. Smith Wesson SC- model

For starters the Springfield model goes for about $500.00 and the S/Wesson cost almost twice , about $1050.00 . The Smith &Wesson model has many custom features like extended beaver tail grips , better grips, custom hammer and sights and an extra magazine comes standard in the box. Whereas the Springfield is pretty much stock in grips , hammer , and sights , even the finish comes in the basic flat black metal finish . Heres the difference , in the range or in dry firing practice the Springfield 1911 model 1A is so much easier to slide cock , as compared with the hard resistance you get when sliding a chamber load on the S&W . Firing wise the custom front and rear sights of the S&W comes in handy with better grouping , Jamming was not encountered on both models , personally , I think i choose the Springfield with its feature of easy slide cocking , the generic sights and grips can easily be modified with after market parts and your cost will still be way under the cost of the S&W SC 19...
